Platform Support

Viola is currently only for the Unix/X-Windows operating system environments. The Motif toolkit is optional (there is a Motif based front-end in addition to the pure XLib based front-end).

The viola architecture is fairly OS neutral, but certain system commands and examples are UNIX/X specific.
